a new job

So, i'm just wondering if its me or if there is something really wrong with the fact that my boss has not approached me about a job opening that has came up? I'm the only qualified candidate here in Tucson and he knows I was disappointed when I did not get the last store opening. I'm stuck in the position of not saying anything due to not wanting to commit career suicide by sounding bithchy but want to find out whats going on and his thoughts. The opportunity is far and few between due to there being only 3 corporate stores, and one manager(my boss) has been with the company for years and years and probably isn't going anywhere and the other is the one who just got the position that we both applied for back in May. So here we are and I have to wait until January to see whats going to happen. I'm sitting here in the dark due to him not even responding back to my email about asking about his plans and expressing my interests. Its so frustrating to me and I'm just wondering if I am overreacting or have a valid complaint....

    yes i do think that u do have a valid complaint well it might be but u never know I've been there before but i keep fighting if i where u your a strong person and if u show fear then your boss may looked at it as your not ready but if u have to wait till January i say don't worry about it yet and have a good x mis thats what u should worry to have the best holiday for and your kids and family

    I don't know what your relationship with your Boss is but I would approach him and ask qhat the plans are and if the are going to consider you for the position. I'm not the lay back and wait patiently kind of person though!

    YEa sure you have a laget complaint,Fish him out a little bit hell nibble.You know,You more than quailified he might be a little intemidated. In arkansas we have a saying GET R DONE.     Some men are threatened by powerful women. Maybe this is the case with your boss. Is there anyone above him you could go to? Seems as though he wants to keep you where you are for a some reason. Good luck to you!

    Thanks everybody for your thoughts. Yeah I have emailed him directly and still have not received a response back. I just feel disappointed that part of a managers job is to promote and help grow your employees, so somebody with my qualifications would be on the list to move up and help develop me. Its one of those things though...you take it further and talk to his boss and you are committing career suicide! But continue to sit here all passive gets me no further ahead...cant I just go back to 5 when the biggest worries were to pick my playground buddy for the day?!?!? haha
